We live in a special part of the northwest...
Did you know that the ferry system connecting Whidbey to the mainland and the Olympic Peninsula is considered part of the Washington State highway system? The Whidbey Scenic Byway is part of the greater Cascade Loop Scenic Highway. And if you traverse the Island from the Clinton Ferry on the south end 38 miles along our winding 2-lane highway to Oak Harbor you will only encounter 4 stop lights along the way. Our local small cities provide anchors to the wider relatively rural environment.
